Swimmer Aide Program

A swimmer aide is interested in working with children, volunteering of their time and learning how to teach swimming.

Participants must be
11 years of age or older and posses American Red Cross intermediate level skills or better.

Swimmer aide training includes:

  • lifeguarding techniques
  • first aid and accident prevention
  • stroke demonstrations
  • methods of teaching swimming
  • techniques for testing and grading

All participants must attend four swimmer aide training dates on June 20th - June 24th, 9am-12noon at the Oceana High School Pool.  You must submit the swimmer aide application form no later than Friday June 17th to be eligible to participate in the 2016 Swimmer Aide Program.  Download a swimmer aide application below.
