All dances have a maximum capacity and may not be sold over the ticket allotment. J-teen dances are held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm once a month during the school year at the Pacifica Community Center on 540 Crespi Dr. The doors open at 7:00pm and close at 7:15pm. There are no "ins-and-outs" and teens are not allowed to leave until 8:45pm or until picked up by a parent or guardian who walks to the door. Students are required to have photo identification and are searched upon entry. Dance POLICIES
Dance tickets are $8 before Friday at 1:30pm and are sold beginning the first day of school of the dance week (mostly Monday or Tuesday due to a holiday). Please note all city offices are closed on Friday beginning at 1:30pm. Community Center doors will open at 5:00pm to sell tickets at $10 if they are available.
Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis and must be done in-person. Tickets are non-transferable. A valid School ID is required to be shown with the J-Teen Dance Ticket for entry into the dance. If a student does not have a School ID, they must get a print out from school office showing proof of school and grade in school. Yearbooks will not be accepted as a form of ID.
Where can I buy a Ticket?
Sale sites are the Pacifica Community Center, the Parks, Beaches & Recreation Department office, Cabrillo School, Ocean Shore School and Vallemar School. Students not attending schools listed should obtain tickets at the main PB&R office during office hours or at the Community Center after 5 pm. Please note the Pacifica Community Center and the Parks Beaches, & Recreation Office close at 1:30pm on Friday afternoons. If tickets are available, the Community Center will reopen at 5:00pm on the night of the dance to sell tickets for $10 until sold out. If you have any questions, call 650-738-7378.
What is the dress code?
Recreation Staff in attendance will be the final judges of appropriateness. If student does not meet the dress code, the parent will be called for a change of clothes or given an oversized camp T-shirt (when appropriate).
- All pants, shorts, and skirts must be appropriately fitted at the waist
- No extremely short shorts – buttock and upper thighs need to be covered at all times.
- Tube tops or backless shirts are prohibited.
- No low-cut necklines or exposed midriffs (tops must cover appropriately).
- Skirt length must meet the tips of fingers when arms are fully extended hanging to the side.
- No clothing or hats that indicate obscenities, violence, gang affiliation, drug, tobacco, alcohol, or sexual nature
